Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the factors associated with adherence to treatment of iron deficiency anemia with polymaltosed iron in children under 2 years of age in a Health Center, Lima Este, 2020. The research has a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, cross-sectional and correlational type. Sample selection was by non-probability sampling for convenience. The sample was made up of 116 mothers with children under 2 years of age. The results indicated that 62.9% of the mothers surveyed have a regular perception regarding health personnel; 64.7% of the mothers have a high knowledge and 68.1% of the mothers with children under 2 years of age are adherent to the treatment with polymalt iron. Regarding the correlation, there is a significant statistical relationship between the personal health factor (rho = .403, p = 000) and knowledge of the (rho = .300, p = 001) with adherence. According to the results obtained, conclude that the factors related to health personnel and the mother's knowledge are directly and significantly related to adherence to anemia treatment with polymalt iron, which is demonstrated with the statistical test of Spearman being 68.1% adherent to the treatment.
