Abstract

The concept of the present truth sets up the theological thought which is foundational for the Adventism and defines its message and mission. Despite of its great value, it has not received enough attention within the current Adventist theological circles, including its scopes and implications for the church. This article searches to clarify the meaning of the components of the present truth, its origin and historical development, and its basis on the biblical apocalyptic, in order to finally present its theological design. The article concludes that the theology of the present truth should have a considerable impact in the Adventist theological task and the mission of the church.
