Abstract

Transformational Leadership and its relationship to church growth and church planting in a sample of Adventists in northeastern Peru. The The study aims to examine the relationship between the dimensions of transformational leadership among leaders and the growth and church planting of Seventh-day Adventist churches in the San Martín region, Peru, during the year 2022. The research employed a descriptive approach, measuring the dimensions of transformational leadership and the numerical growth of churches. Additionally, a correlational and cross-sectional design was used. Data were collected in 2023 through surveys. The results reveal a significant and positive correlation between transformational leadership and church growth (R = 0.808; p = 0.000), as well as between transformational leadership and church planting (R = 0.701; p = 0.000). Moreover, a significant correlation was found between church growth and the planting of new congregations (R = 0.707; p = 0.000). It is concluded that the three variables are strongly interrelated, as most leaders and members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the San Martín region exhibit high levels of transformational leadership, which is closely linked to church growth and expansion. Furthermore, the study highlights the need to continue training local leadership.
